Greetings! This post is simply an informative tutorial in response to how to post up your own personal avatar.
*Please keep in mind of the copyright law. Anything which is posted on the internet is, in it's right mind, published and therefore copyrighted without the use or assistance of a lawyer. Why is that you ask? Because all that is required to copyright is a date, and a witness, as long as the concept or design is made real by the means of applying it to one form or another of matter. i.e once the pen hits the paper, the finger taps on the keyboard it's yours unless otherwise noted. the c is optional. With that said....
Putting up your own avatar. The first step, finding/making a picture you like enough to show the world. Easy enough right?
The second step is making it digital. If you've aquired some talent and aren't afraid of the computer than you're one step ahead of me, hang on a sec. For those of you who wish to take something personal like a photograph but lack the capabilites like a scanner can go to places like Kinko's or Wal-Mart and have it converted into digital format. (don't worry you'll get your picture back)
Now comes the hard part, making it internet accessable. "But I've already done that" you say. sorry that's just to get it on your computer, the internet is a little more picky. I know most if not everyone likes to watch their pennies, so you're not as likely to go out and buy some expensive program like Photoshop ($600). But you at least have to have paint right? What you do is, take the Paint program and open up your photo, where ever you put it. Resize it to match or be as close to the images you see here. I would have to say 1 inch by 1 in.(or 2.55 cm x 2.55 cm). Once you've done that under File click Save As. Label it something different than the original, something like thumbnail or avatar. WAIT! Before you click save make sure that you change it's file type. For the best look with the smallest file size or resolution choose JPEG, then click save.
Now it's ready to put up on the internet, but first the internet must know where to find this picture everytime you log on. So to find this image you click on the browse button. Here there should be a menu pop up and from there you just find the file you saved your avatar in.
By and By that should be the jist of it, without going into too much detail. Hope this helps! Just pm me if you need anymore information. (incase I left anything out)

um nobody heard me say this but i got my pic off the net and I think its one of those free graphic things...........
anywayz, if you have any transparencies in your avatar you might want to save it as a gif........ and the size of the avatars is 120 pixels by 120 pixels. Thats what it says in the profile.
And if anyone isn't artistically inclined and does not want to copyright then just contact me and I am sure I can make an avatar for you!!

On a side note, I just wanted to let the Librarian (is is proper to place "the" before Librarian??) know that I think your avatar is very beautiful.
Welp, that's really all I had to say. . .

Why thank you for clearing that up . . .
I just didn't know if a certian amount of respect should be given to him because of his position in the site (which I'm not to sure of). and for some odd reason I thought that the word "The" gave him that.
Maybe I just try to be too polite . . .
