Looking For Pagans in My Area

I was wondering if there were any Pagans in the Springfield,MO area? I just moved here and I'm looking for people like me so I can actually talk to them about thoughts and ideas and books and all that

You can try Greenleaf Coven... or ask a Rennesance Bookstore, it's off of Battlefield Blvd. There are a fair few in that area... some good, some bad, some serious, some plastic.

I've looked into covens, but I'm a solatary and I don't want to join a coven just so I will have someone to talk too. THat doesn't seem right

How Long has it been since you've been home? Cause you can only Leave MO for awhile, it is after all HillBilly central

Ok well I've been looking and I'll find some sooner or later, when I go into the store I'm the only one there, besides the owners (or just the cashiers) LOL

Well, it's not "home",lol... for me, "home" is New Orleans, LA... I'm cajun... however, I've lived in MO a few times in the Springfield area. Greenleaf wasn't just a Coven, but a kind of umbrella group as well. Used to be a lynch pin for a large part of the local pagan network. Check them out. Lady Amber, the HPS could probably put you in touch with quite a few folks... They also used to hold open circles, classes and gatherings.

I also looked on WitchVox.com and came across some groupa and such, but here in MO there isn't much that is offered, Yay for Bible Belts. People are to scared to come out of the broom closet here, or everywhere. Anyway, I got invited to a Samhain Circle and I am going to check it out to see what that is like, I've been a solotary for 16 years now so It should be interesting.

I know the feeling... I've spent most of the last 16 years as a solitary, with some time here and there with various groups/covens/circles/groves/kindreds, but only about 20% of the time or so with groups.

Good luck with the Samhain circle. Hopefully you meet some folks worth staying in touch with.

Thank you I'm kinda nervous about meeting new people, I get fidgity when I meet new people, (I have social anxiety disorder) So I hope it will be ok.

I'm pretty good at breathing

I just have a tendacy to pick up wayward emotions and it's then hard for me to focus. I've learned to block it mostly but sometimes it comes out at me.

I know I will I'm good at all that and blocking as well it's just the thought of getting a wayward emotion that scares me and makes me nervous, I usually get by with it in the first meeting. It's after the first meeting I can relax a bit. (I just had to rant a bit. Thanks for the suppoort
